My mistake, my reputation for being the most serious man on the internet sometimes means it's hard to tell when I'm joking.

Fill out applications at tons of different places. I think you'll find that there is often a place for someone who wants to work. And many place will put you to work if you show up. Like at my work for example... makes me wonder.. you work on photoshop a decent amount, go to different graphic design places, advertising agencies, photographers... and tell them you are willing to do some grunt work... color correction, retouching... there are places that will take that offer.

not to say that isn't worth a try, but this area is rather saturated with GD's and any job in the field is fiercely contested.

it got that way starting back in the 90's when schools started pushing GD programs and those 'Adult Education' places started pushing 'Associate's Degrees' in 'Graphic Design' which is why i went into mechanical drafting back then.

point being, it's not necessarily a good idea to focus in on a field so much given the current situation.

The Art Institute of Phoenix has a job placement program. Not just jobs that require degrees, but all kinds of jobs. I don't know what kind of options your school has, but it wouldn't hurt to get on some kind of mailing list at AIB or some other such institute/college. often it's as easy as going on their site, and sending an email requesting to get added.

If nothing else, I have great faith in the face to face approach. Even for secretarial jobs or some such. You are awesome at writing, maybe at newspaper.I realize there are many qualified people running around that want the same jobs you do. But in my experience, most of them expect the job to fall on their lap and don't know how to go out and get them. So, you'd be surprised.

I have a friend who loves animals and has a degree in video productions. Well, she decided to go to an animal care hospital and ask for a position. They trained her to be a vet tech with no other experience than loving animals. Worth a try too...

I have no idea of your skillset, but let me know what you may be looking for. I have a few positions open in my company, and I hold a good deal of sway. Depends on what your background is though.

Oh... by the way... thank you... though I know I can't dance for crap... thank you for the comments! :p
