Absurdit theater exported
So, I'm going to Japan next year, and I understand they like shirts with english on them, especially curse words. SO I'm gonna make some shirts, and some bank following hopefully, but I'd like to contaminate the country with something other than obscenities. I was hoping for purely gibberish prose that, when translated, surely sounds foreign and bizarre. Post some ideas, and I'll shirtify them!

if you are going as a student- formal wear is much more respectful, as for teaching; Cheap american slogan T-Shirts are considered to be pretty offensive, if you are visiting the country.

don't forget to "slurp" your noodles!

If you need to bring a gift, bring scotch (the taxes in Japan makes it wicked $$$) it's considered to be an amazing gift. (never give anyone a knife of any sort! a very bad cultural gift).

It's a nice place- make sure to visit the natural springs... depending on where you are staying, you might want to get used to a non western toilet! (even in Tokyo).

I had a conversation just recently with a friend who used to work for a large t-shirt printing company which specialilzed in sports related T's. She told me that before each Super Bowl they print off thousands of shirts for each team. Following the big game they sell off the winning teams shirts here in the states and then in the following six months sell off all the other shirts with the wrong team on them to foreign countries.
Personally I think you should make "translation" shirts. They should say one thing in Japanese on the front and something horribly ironic or obscene on the back in english. Shits and giggles. Oh, and piss poor foreign relations. Salut.
